What the Torah Says About
Mashiach
[This Section][1] explores the Messianic theological perspective, which harmonizes the person of Yeshua with the eternal nature of the Torah. Rather than replacing ancient law, this viewpoint identifies Yeshua as the Living Torah, asserting that he is the divine author and perfect practitioner of God’s commandments. The sources argue that the New Covenant does not abolish these instructions but instead internalizes them through the Holy Spirit, writing the law directly upon the believer's heart. While salvation is attained through faith alone, adhering to the Torah is presented as the standard for righteous living and a way to emulate Yeshua’s sinless life.
Yeshua the Messiah is presented in the sources as fully God and fully man, the eternal Logos (Word) through whom all things were created and are sustained. He is identified as the Great "I AM" (Ehyeh) who spoke to Moses from the burning bush and as the Angel of ADONAI, the pre-incarnate messenger who is recognized as YHVH Himself. Born as a descendant of King David, Yeshua lived a perfectly Torah-observant life, serving as the promised Prophet like Moses who spoke God’s words with absolute authority. His work includes delivering the Torah at Sinai, offering Himself as the ultimate substitutionary sacrifice for sin, and accomplishing redemption through His literal, physical resurrection. Currently, He serves as the heavenly High Priest (Kohen Gadol), mediating God's relationship with Israel and the nations, and is expected to literally return to reign physically on earth.
Drawing from the sources, one might think of the Torah as a musical score and Yeshua as the Master Virtuoso; while the music is eternal and perfect, it is through the Virtuoso that the score is perfectly performed and brought to life, demonstrating exactly how it was always meant to be played without ever discarding the sheet music.
